Trapping Pollutants
Of course, in order to remove particles from the air, you need a filter. There are many types of filters available today. One that is most common is called a media filter. Essentially, it is made of some sort of material that air flows through. As the air goes through the media filter, hopefully as many particles as possible are trapped. This filter is often attached to a system that is not associated with current heating and cooling. It is an independent system that has its own set of blowers.
There is a filter that has a very interesting way of going about its job. It is similar to the media filter because it tries to trap as many particles as possible. However, instead of the air being forced through a filter, electricity is used instead. As we all know from the ugliness that we can find clinging to the glass screen of our TV set, static is very good at capturing particles. Static electricity is used in ionizers or electronic filters. These systems dont necessarily need a blower.
Killing Microbes
Of course, a primary concern for some homes is bacteria, mildew, and spores. There are too methods that are used to take care of this problem. One is to lower the humidity. The other one is to zap the microbes with ultraviolet light. Of course, a traditional media or electronic filter is used in addition to a humidifier or UV filter.
Installing or Repairing Air Filters
Of course, you can have problems associated with air filter you already have or need maintenance. Some common problems with air filters are needing additional coverage and reducing the noise that they cause. If you need an air filter installed, corrected, or just general filter exchange maintenance, give us a call of the Home Center of West Michigan. Were always here to help you with any of your filter related questions or requests.
